May is Bike Month – So Get in that Saddle!

May is Bike Month, and that means that all around the Southland rides and events are organized to get folks back in the saddle again. This Sunday (5/6) the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition is hosting another in their series of Sunday Funday rides – this time to Travel Town in Griffith park. This Sunday also marks the first of two ‘Bici Libre’ maintenance workshops (the other on 5/9). On Thursday 5/17 the LACBC celebrates bike to work day with a series of ‘pit stops’ around the region. We recently posted our own Bike month calendar, and we’ve had a look at other upcoming events.

Down in Long Beach, this weekend marks this year’s Bike Fest with rides, fun and games for the whole family. It’s not too late to register for the Tour of Long Beach! Over in Pasadena, C.I.C.L.E. is sponsoring a bunch of events, including a Taste of Pasadena Ride on Monday 5/14 and a Bike-In movie night on 5/18. More details on the Bike Week Pasadena calendar page. Do you have any other bike events to add to our calendar?

We know that May is a busy month. But we hope to see you at one of these events. Or maybe out on the town celebrating one in this long list of May ‘month of’ events!
